Energy Performance Certificates were introduced to help reduce CO² emissions and lessen the effects of global warming. All properties being sold or rented require a certificate which needs to be commissioned before marketing begins. Validation is between 3 and 10 years.
The report shows the energy efficiency of a property to potential buyers and tenants. The building receives an energy and carbon emission efficiency grading between A (the most efficient) and G, the London average is currently D.
The report will make recommendations on how to improve the energy rating, these measures are divided according to how much they will cost. The home owner or landlord is not obliged to act upon these recommendations.

An accredited energy assessor will contact you to arrange a visit to the property. All assessors are rigorously checked prior to receiving accreditation and must at all times carry identification.
Assessments take between thirty minutes and 1 hour depending on size. Assessors check water and heating systems, windows, insulation, building age and construction etc.
The completed certificate is emailed to you within 24 hours.
